Spanish Constitution Day
Spanish Constitution Day remembers the 6 December 1978 referendum; in 2026 several communities take Monday 7 December as the public holiday under a “Monday after” title.

It marks the constitutional foundation of democratic Spain after the Transition.

Constitution approved by referendum 6 Dec 1978, in force 29 Dec 1978 (published in the BOE, Spain’s official state gazette, as BOE-A-1978-31229); labour holiday practice includes Sunday-to-Monday transfer.
How it is observed in Spain
Civic remembrance; 2026 paid Monday 7 December where listed; often near the Immaculate Conception holiday.
