Easter Monday
Easter Monday (Lunes de Pascua) is the day after Easter Sunday and a public holiday in several Spanish autonomous communities, not nationwide.
What it means
It continues the celebration of the Resurrection within the Easter Octave and gives a civil rest day after Holy Week where observed.
Origin and history
Tied to the Christian Easter calendar; Spanish communities elect it as a traditional regional holiday in the annual labour calendar published in the BOE, Spain’s official state gazette.

Closures and family rest in observing regions (e.g. Catalonia, Valencia, Basque Country, Navarre, La Rioja, Balearics, Castilla-La Mancha in 2026).
